Attractions of Farvardin (March - April)
1- Egyptian vulture: Egyptian vulture is a bird of prey which has a vast global
distribution. In Qeshm Island you can find this beautiful creature more easily.
They are regularly seen near landfills in groups. In spring in coasts of the Persian
Gulf and Oman Sea you can find these charismatic birds over the roofs, palms or
even street lamps.


2- Blossoms: By arrival of spring through Iran, every garden is more colorful with
different trees blossoms. Depending to different climates of Iran, Cherry, Apple,
Hazelnut and Apricot and... absorb the attention of all the nature-lovers and tourist
of Iran.


3- Norouz: The very first day of spring is the time of an ancient ceremony in the
Persian language countries from centuries ago. "Norouz" is the most important holiday
and festival for Iranians with very special ceremonies and costumes. By reaching
"Norouz" in every family do you can see the grass-plots, house-cleaning, shopping's
and "Haft-sin" (a table with at least 7 signs of happiness in life). 10 countries
celebrate "Norouz" in the world namely Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan...
4- Migratory swallows: The flight of flocks of swallows in the blue sky is a very
good sign for coming spring in Iran. They move to north after their stay in Iran
in March and April. Bern swallow is the most common species in most parts of Iran
in March.
5- Turkaman Desert: This magnificent area in North Eastern Iran has an arid climate
but in this time of year all the plains are covered with flowers and plants. By
going to Northern parts of Golestan province you can find the absorbing culture,
music and lifestyle of these warm-blooded people.

6- Khosh'yeylaagh Wildlife Refuge: This unique micro-clima is one of the attractions
of Iran as a junction of different climates and cultures. You can find three different
habitats in this area containing open plains which once was roamed by herds of Persian
gazelle and good population of Asiatic cheetah, high mountain habitat with tremendous
nature in this season and upper in north the Hyrcanian forests of Caspian with species
like Red deer. All these mixture is just in 1500 sq km in Semnan province.


7- Hoz'soltan Salt lake: This small salt lake is located in Qom province and attracts
thousands of migratory birds for resting in colder seasons. In warmer seasons it
completely dies out and looks alike a snowy plain.


8- Climbing: Because of southern direction and high cliffs, in this season Band
Yakh'chaal is one of favorite places for this sport in Tehran province. Iran is
a suitable destination for mountain sports due to its vast mountain ranges.
9- Khojir & Sorkheh'hesar National Parks: These two national parks in vicinity of
Tehran city are among the oldest game reserves in Iran and even in the world. Protected
since Ghajarid dynasty (1779-1925), every year hundreds of people visit the parks
during Norouz for trekking and observation of Alborz red sheep, the representative
of larger mammals of the region.


10- Caspian Sea: The biggest lake on earth is located in northern borders of Iran
and has significant impact on Nature and people of the region. Every year millions
of people travel to 3 coastal provinces in Norouz time to enjoy the pleasant and
unique weather and lifestyle.
