Attractions of Mordad (July - August)
1- Jebeer Gazelle: Jebeer is one of the 3 species of Gazelles in Iran. Jebeer lives
in arid areas of central Iran. Biggest population of Jebeer lives in Kerman province.
During warm season they can be easily seen around the water holes.

2- Caspian Seal: Caspian Seal is the only mammal in this biggest lake on earth.
In summer time because of depth and appearance of Shads, they occur in high numbers
in southern parts of the lake.

3- Damavand peak: After about 6 weeks of preparing for reaching the summit, July
is the best time to reach the highest peak of Iran. Freezing nights and observation
of Caspian Snowcock is the attractions of this area.


4- Chukar Partridge: Summer time is perfect for observing Chukars with their newly
born chicks. Usually they rest during day-time around water holes.

5- Touran Protection Complex: Touran is one of the 9 Biosphere Reserves in Iran.
During summer Onagers, Wild Sheeps and Wild Goats are more dependent on water sources.
With a bit of luck Persian Leopard, Asiatic Cheetah and Caracal can be observed
in this area.


6- Dena Protected Area: Oak trees and fresh cool breeze from Dena peak is pleasant
during hot days of summer. Dena Protected Area has magnificent sceneries in Zagros
Mountains (Western Iran).



7- Tortoise: Tortoises are more active in arid areas of Iran. Central Asian Tortoise
and Mediterranean Spur-thighed Tortoise occur in central plains of Iran.


8- Snake: Summer is the best time of activity of Snakes. 72 species of Snakes live
in Iran.

9- Dragonfly: From spring to late summer near ponds and lakes Dragonflies can be
observed. They have an important role in biological control of other insects.


10- Rodents: Rodents are active during spring and summer. They breed several times
in summer.
