Khafr village (Padena area) cleaned from wastes in earth day celebration.

On the global earth day, the environment of KHAFR village (near Semirom city- Isfahan) has been purified with the contribution of SABZ-YARAN-E-DENA and PLAN4LAND NGO’s, Department of environment (Isfahan), Tehran recycle organization, Semirom municipality and Gorji company.
PLAN4LAND reports: On Wednesday 18th April this ceremony has been held with the participation of villagers, voluntary groups especially elementary and guidance school students. They collected piles of rubbish from streets, river beds and houses. Because of lack of waste collection system in small villages, these kind of actions seems to be inevitable. The wastes transferred to suburbs, for burning because of the fact that there was no suitable place for burying them.
Kafr village is located in DENA protected area which is one of tourism attraction points for it’s beautiful nature but is facing pollution problems. In spite of continuous prosecution the governments could not find suitable place for trashes to be buried or disposal system and people traditionally pollute rivers.
Through this symbolic action, the villagers demand the authorities to supervise the wastes problem. But despite copious pursuits and invitations, none of them joined this program.
