Plan for the Land Society won the National Wetlands Championship of 2008-2009.

Plan for the Land Society was chosen as the Nationwide Champion of Wetlands because of its efforts in conservation of this precious ecosystem by holding educational workshops and summer camps for youngsters.

Annually on the International Wetlands day, Iranian Wetlands Conservation Project in cooperation with RAMSAR Convention and Department of Environment of Iran (DoE) select the most active group in public-awareness, conservation and education on importance of wetlands in the country.

During the ceremony of International Wetlands day on February 2nd in Abadan next to Shadegan wetland, Plan for the Land Society received the educational section prize of the year from head of DoE. Mr. Delavar Najafi (Biodiversity deputy head of DoE) officially introduce Plan for the Land as the winner and encouraged selecting a NGO for this award and wished the continual of educational programs as a vital factor in conservation.
