Project Details & Results
1- Basic scientific researches on Caspian Seal biology including compiling observation
records, sampling for toxicological, Physiological tests, etc.
2- Developing educational programmes with fishing communities, Game-wardens and
other related jobs in Caspian waters to reduce seal deaths during different operations.
3- Caspian coasts monitoring for Seal mortality and compiling data on mortality
causes and Sex/Age distribution in dead Seals
4- Public awareness with schools and communities in coastal villages
5- Restoring haul-out and foraging habitat for seals along the coast of Iran with
a special focus on developing a seal reserve area
6- 6. Working on CDV status by sampling both seals and wild canids (such as jackals)
for CDV
