Summarized report of the second trip to Khafr village 2007/03/10- 2007/03/11
1- Holding a meeting with representative of women’s Basij:
Fortunately women succeeded to specify a place for their gathering. Mrs. Emadi permitted
to use her house for this purpose. This placed started to work on 22nd Bahman.
Unfortunately the list of foods and handicrafts was not ready because the women
were not clarified about the main goal of this activity. Therefore holding a session
to fully inform them about the Plan Foe Land NGO, their activities and their goals
would be necessary in the next trip.
2- Holding training class in primary school for boys and girls:
In this trip two classed were held to inform the students about potential problems
of waste in their village and to encourage them to keep cleaning the village.
In these classes to show the importance of the issue, stories about garbage and
village were told.
3- Holding a session with Mr. Mousavi by Mr. Danesh to gather information about
climbing in the village. The results include:
- The Possibility to access 14 peaks over 4000 meters.
- The existence of 5
different paths to climb to the peaks.
- The availability of local guides familiar
with the path.
- The existence of a shelter in one of the climbing paths with
about 15 people capacity.
- The existence of an icy cave with a 5-hour walk to
the village.
Also the deficiencies of the area as follow:
- The lack of basic need of climbers in villager’s shops.
- The lack of necessary
equipments such as suitable shoes for local guides.
- The lack of advances training
for local guides.
- The lack of basic training for local schools.
- The
lack of proper notification and advertisement about the strong points of the village
as one of the most important camps for climbing.
- The lack of proper information
about Keykhosro Cave.
