Summarized report of the third trip to Khafr village 2007/04/16- 2007/04/20

1- Cooperation with Sabz Yarane Dena in doing clearance day ceremony:
The activities of this day: going to the elementary school of KHAFR and talking about the clearance day and the problem of waste, visiting the guidance school of Khafr and making a speech about the importance of this day. Putting up the placards and posters and giving waste bag, gloves and green uniforms in order to start working in the office of Sabz Yarane Dena. Waste collecting started from the entrance of the village and along side of the river bank and finally the waste was carried to a place out of the village by 2 Nisson pickups. Also the authorities of the environment of Kohkilooye and Boyerahmad province came to the village at the time of waste collecting and announced a specific site outside of the protected area of Dena. The plan for Land association helped the Sabz Yarane Dena with hold the clearance day in the best way, providing the poetry book for children provided by Public and International relations of Recycling and conversion of materials, the brochure of waste separating, placard of Clean Earth day etc.
2- Considering and visiting the tourist attractions around the khafr village and recording the points and distances by GPS:
In this trip the khafr` s waterfall path was considered by GPS. The main path of the waterfall is the southern path that it is the best way for tourists. Traces of bear were observed on the path .This path has 3 waterfalls that the last waterfall is the main one in the village. The high amount of water in the spring and summer and the beautiful view of frozen waterfall in winter are among the attractions of the area .The other way to waterfall has many springs , gardens and beautiful landscape .It has a variety of plants that were collected and realized by women.
3- Having a meeting with the women of the village to consider their abilities in providing food and herbal products and coordinating them with the goals of the project:
In this meeting, the cooperation of women members of Sabz Yarane Dena in providing the products of the village, such as dried fruit, food, handicrafts, different kind of jam and pickles was negotiated. Also a list of 56 kinds of food was provided with the help of the woman villagers. According to the collected information the products can be classified in four following groups:
Local food
Handicrafts
Herbal medicine and food
Agricultural product
The herbs in khafr village are used as food, spice and medicine. And the main agriculture products include different kinds of apples, apricot, walnut and plum. Also some suggestions about the type of packing of products such as honey, apple, vegetables, etc were offered.
4- Having a meeting with the owners of the local houses to be used as lodge accommodation and assessing the facilities and their hospitalities:
It was suggested that a group of enthusiastic women provide food for the tourists.
5- Considering the attractions on the way to khafr such as Hana animal sanctuary and kolah ghazi national park to be added in the tour package:
In visiting the Hana animal sanctuary the lake of Hana dam was being visited. This lake is a place for migrant birds. This place can be a suitable bird watching site at proper time of the year. There are 3 environment guard posts named Lashotor the main one, Lagur and Mohammad Abad.
6- Considering the products of village to recommend the right packing
7- Considering the ideas of one of the tourists to Khafr:
This visitor enumerated the natural and nice weather, traditional houses and its special architecture, waterfalls, the attractions on the way, the quality and variation of local food and the possibility to see the bear in this area as the village` s attractions .The absence of telecommunications, warm water and the cozy place in the local house were mentioned as the deficiencies of this village by the visitor.
